Nick Hex

Director of NHS Consulting

Nick is the Director of NHS Consulting at YHEC and a qualified accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. He leads YHEC's work with the NHS and public sector, providing economic evaluations, modelling, literature and evidence reviews, and analytical support. Nick's expertise lies in examining efficiency and productivity, using techniques such as return-on-investment, cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses to inform decision making. 

Nick’s work helps to shape policy across the healthcare sector, from the Department of Health to local NHS trusts. He is a former advisor to NICE, having worked as part of the National Collaborating Centre for Indicator Development, and has also held previous roles at Audit Scotland and the Audit Commission. Notable projects include an evaluation of ‘GP at Hand’ and an estimation of the costs of diabetes in the UK. His ability to translate client needs into robust analysis makes Nick a trusted partner in navigating complex healthcare decisions in the NHS and public sector.
