Professor Ken Badcock

Ken is a YHEC board member, as well as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at the University of York. In this role, he is responsible for coordinating and delivering strategy and planning, while also working with Deans and the Chief Operating Officer to effectively deploy resources. Before joining the University of York, he held senior leadership positions at Royal Holloway, the University of London, and the University of Liverpool.

With a strong academic background, Ken holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD in the simulation of fluid flow from Oxford University. He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and previously served as an editor for the journal ‘Progress in Aerospace Sciences’.  Ken’s extensive leadership experience across multiple universities provides a valuable perspective to YHEC’s strategic development and growth.
