Hand searching

Hand searching refers to retrieval methods that rely more heavily on the comprehensive browsing and scalling of all content in a specific journal issue, supplement, conference or website. This method is typically employed when the information within these sources cannot be effectively or exhaustively retrieved through standard database searches. Historically, hand searching was performed using physical hard copies. However, with the proliferation of electronic sources and improvements in search interfaces, this process is now frequently conducted online.
