Rules Based Pathway for MedTech

The integrated, rules-based MedTech pathway (RBP) is a joint initative by NHS England and NICE. The goal of the initiative is to create a unified system for evaluating, funding, and commissioning medical technologies (MedTech) across their entire lifecycle within the NHS. RBP is designed to make recommendations for technologies that should be routinely comissioned in the NHS. Technologies recommended by NICE as part of the RBP are expected to recieve funding to be used within NHS organisations. NICE will identify technologies suitable for RBP assessment based on NHS priorities and the technologies place in the life cycle.
